Cellan Millenium Hall

Cellan Millennium Hall is a modern, purpose-built community centre, situated on a 0.75 acre green site just off the B4343 in the centre of the village of Cellan, about two miles from Lampeter.

The land is leased from Ceredigion County Council and also has a children’s play area, community garden and car park.

The Hall was funded under the Millennium Halls for Wales scheme and match-funding by the local community and other grant-awarding bodies and opened in 2001.

With its good acoustics and natural light, the hall is an ideal venue for a wide variety of activities and classes from yoga and line dancing to film nights, children’s parties and funeral teas.

The Hall is a single storey building with wheelchair access throughout. The main hall has a capacity of 100. There is a fully-fitted kitchen, electric hob and oven, fridge, oil-fired central heating

The Hall and play area are managed by Cellan Village Improvement Society (CVIS) Committee which is run by a group of volunteers. The current Trustees of the Society are Chris Lambert and Gary Thorogood.

Public Access Defibrillator

Cellan now has a Public Access Defibrillator at the Millennium Hall.

It can be accessed by anyone 24/7 and is registered on The Circuit, the national register and map of defibrillators in the UK. This means that, when you dial 999 and are put through to the Ambulance Service, if the call handler decides that a defibrillator is appropriate for the casualty, s/he knows the location of your nearest defibrillator, directions to find it and (in our case) the code to unlock the cabinet. It also means that the Ambulance Service knows that that defibrillator is in use and will not direct anyone else to it. They will also notify us that the defibrillator has been used and needs to be returned for servicing.
