Old Cwmann School Site Set For New Homes

The application by Barcud Housing Association to build new homes on the former Coedmor School in Cwmann looks set to be approved by Carmarthenshire County Council.

Barcud plans to build 20 affordable homes on the site of the old school, as well as converting the former school house to a four bedroom market dwelling.

The application had previously gone before Carmarthenshire’s Planning Committee in March 2022 but had been deferred due to concerns about pollution by phosphates.

Despite receiving objections from the Community Council and others County Council Planning Officers are recommending that the Planning Committee approves the application when it meets on 14 September 2023.

As part of the application approval Barcud has signed a Section 106 Legal Agreement
which secures a contribution of £44,000 towards Active Travel which is considered to be
reasonably necessary to serve the development.

Barcud’s development plans are available online…
