Ceredigion County Council have announced that there will be free parking at its car parks on the three Saturdays running up to Christmas.
In Lampeter this means free parking all day on Saturday 9th, 16th and 23rd December at the Cwmins, Rookery and Market Street (Sainsbury’s) car parks.
In Tregaron the Council’s Talbot Yard Pay and Display Car Park will be free on these Saturdays.
It is hoped this will give a boost to Christmas shopping at shops in the two towns.
Councillor Keith Henson, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environmental Services said…
“We’re delighted that we are able to open up our car parks for free to help support local business, whether that be shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants in the lead up to Christmas. Our local businesses create a wonderful festive shopping experience in our towns and so we’d encourage everyone to make the most of the free parking and shop from local businesses this festive period.”
Parking charges at the Council’s Pay and Display car parks in Lampeter are usually £2.10 for one hour, £2.60 for two hours, £3.60 for three hours or £4.60 for the whole day.
