Hywel Dda University Health Board is recruiting a Staff Nurse (Band 5) to work at Tregaron Community Hospital.

Tregaron Community Hospital has recently been refurbished and in-patient capacity extended to provide a 15 bedded general medical and rehabilitation ward.

Main duties of the job

Vacancies have arisen for motivated, enthusiastic, forward thinking and patient-centred individuals to join the hospital’s nursing team. Hywel Dda is looking for nurses who are able to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, are caring and kind and who wish to develop their clinical and leadership skills. Nurses will be expected to work as autonomous practitioners with the support of the ward manager and senior nursing and therapies staff.

There are permanent roles available on a full time or part time basis. Applications from newly qualified nurses as well as those with existing experience are welcomed.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post but English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

• Current NMC registration

Desirable criteria…

• Degree in Nursing
• Evidence of post registration study and training, eg POVA
• Evidence of post registration study and training, eg Child protection
• Intermediate Life Support if required in clinical setting.

• Pre-registration evidence in direct nursing care
• Experience of providing holistic nursing care
• Interest in developing nursing skills.

Desirable criteria…

• Clear understanding of clinical governance framework
• Implement evidence based practice.
