Well known local minister The Reverend Goronwy Evans sadly passed away on Sunday night.

He died aged 82 at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen.

Reverend Evans was the long serving minister at Brondeifi Unitarian Chapel in Lampeter, as well as being involved in many local associations and charities.

He and his wide Beti were active fundraisers, raising over £1 million for Children in Need and other charities since the 1980s.

In recognition of his charitable work Reverend Goronwy Evans was awarded an MBE in the 2021 New Year’s Honours List.

He was also a writer, broadcaster and event organizer.

As well as his wife Beti the Reverend leaves behind his sons Ioan Wyn and Rhidian.
