St Thomas’ Methodist Church, Lampeter

St Thomas’ Methodist Church is an English speaking Methodist Church in the small town of Lampeter.

The first Methodist Church in Lampeter was built in 1806 located in what are now the grounds of the University. On the current site, a Welsh speaking Methodist church was first built in 1828, and rebuilt in 1875. In 1983, for a variety of reasons, the then members asked for the church to be transferred to the English-speaking Circuit.

Over the years, the building had developed significant faults and with a local membership of only 22, the decision was taken to knock down the building and rebuild on the same site.

During the months of the demolition and rebuilding, from May 1991 to November 1992,  services were held in St Peter’s Church hall. In December 1992 the new church building was opened.

Since then membership and attendance has increased and St Thomas’s is now a thriving family church with members from a wide variety of church backgrounds and from all over the world.

St Thomas’ is committed to marriage equality and is registered to conduct same-sex marriages.

Sunday Morning Worship in English starts at 10.30am.
