Longwood Community Woodland, Llanfair Clydogau

Longwood Community Woodland is a 325-acre area of mixed woodland habitat types located close to the market town of Lampeter.

The aim of Longwood Community Woodland is to restore the non-native plantation areas of the woods to native broadleaved species whilst managing the woodlands as a community resource.

Longwood is entirely owned by the community and is managed as a limited company on a not for profit basis. All profits from commercial activities are used to further the improvement of this community leisure resource.

There is a Visitor Centre at Longwood that is open during the week.

Long Wood has over 15km of footpaths and bridleways of varying lengths and durations. There is something for all ages and abilities at Long Wood taking in local Iron Age Hillforts, a variety of habitat types and terrains.


Longwood can supply seasoned hardwood or softwood firewood at competitive prices and can also supply timber milled to your requirements.

All firewood and timber is sustainably sourced and processed onsite. Firewood is available either loose or bagged for collection or delivery.

Long Wood also undertakes occasional sales of standing timber from thinnings as prescribed within the silvicultural plan.


Long Wood hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
