Lampeter Music Club has been bringing live classical music to Lampeter and the surrounding area since 1982. All concerts are open both to club members and to the public.
It has always been a ‘town and gown’ club, offering a winter season of classical music to all the people of the area, often in venues of the Arts Hall and Old Hall on the UWTSD Lampeter Campus.
Guest musicians in the past have included Marisa Robles (who inspired Catrin Finch to learn the harp), and more recently Tom Poster and Elena Urioste. For the millennium the club commissioned Mapping Wales from John Metcalf, a local composer who is now our president.
Lampeter Music Club continues to offer a mixture of music by both established performers and young talent.
The current chair of the Club is Glynis Florence. Other members of the Committee include Stephen Rowlands (Treasurer), Stephen Florence (Secretary & Website), Pat Jones (Programme Organiser), Carol Nixon, Esme Luckham, and Llywelyn Ifan Jones.
Joining Lampeter Music Club costs £10 per year for Standard Membership, or £70 for Full Membership which includes a season ticket for free entry to all concerts.
