The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is looking for a Catering and Conference Assistant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.
The role is based on the University’s Lampeter Campus, but there may some requirement to work across other campuses.
The Role
You are required to provide excellent customer service in all areas of catering and conferencing. The position involves serving food and beverages in all catering outlets, preparation of food, simple cooking, portion control and presentation.
You will be required to prepare specialty coffees and hot beverages to the specified standard. The provision of a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene will be essential, and all relevant records must be maintained.

To be considered as a Catering and Conference Assistant, you will need…
- Good general level of education including good written and numerical skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous experience of interacting with customers in a front facing service environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to demonstrate effective organizational skills
- To demonstrate the ability to understand and follow instructions
- The ability to work effectively as an individual including being unsupervised, as part of a team and in partnership with others
- The ability and preparedness to work flexibly in terms of duties, shift patterns, campus locations and in order to respond to business needs at short notice
- A good general level of education including good written and numerical skills.

- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Allergen awareness
- Previous experience of working in a busy kitchen/dining environment
- Experience of basic cooking
- Previous experience of working as a till operator
- Experience of maintaining standards
- Barista training
- The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh – oral and written.
